SDH with The Jerk and Tell with YF- I doubt the Millennials will be passing this down to their kids so it all ends with us GenXers and boomers. And that's a darn shame.

You got that right; in biology lectures, my movie references are increasingly in need of explanation...when discussing differing modes of predation, I was at least happy to find that they ALL knew what it meant to "reproduce like an alien" (ie, like an Earth bound parasitoid, implanting your progeny in the body of another).

Nope.

Daughter loves both movies (as well as MP's Holy Grail and Life of Brian) and the grandson absolutely loves the Three Stooges. Quality never dies.

Yes, I have created a coven of nerds. Or is it a pack? Gaggle? School? Pocket protector?

I've tried my best but my daughters will not pay any attention to my old movies. At least they know the movies and actors but I doubt they would watch them on their own. I was watching A&C go to Mars and my daughter said "that movie again!". Black & white movies are an automatic no-go.

That's funny--my kids are the same; there is NO point in my asking, "so, if I mentioned so and so, from movie such and such, wouldn't you know what I was getting at?" as they say, "yes, dad, BUT none of our friends EVER knew what you (or we) were talking about until we made them watch it five times too"

Funny. I've entrusted my daughter to spread the word among her friends. We've already firmly established Young Frankenstein as one of the funniest movies ever.

Saying "Frau Bluher" and then having the grandson cry as if on cue will forever bond us.

If I can leave this earth saying "It's only a flesh wound!" and have one of my kids laugh, I will have done my job.
